Life has a way of changing our circumstances in ways we never expect. A thriving career can disappear overnight. Wealth can vanish. Friendships may fade. Loved ones may leave us through distance or death. In such moments, many people begin to question their worth.
A simple observation about the word SEAT offers a profound life lesson.
Remove the S, and you get EAT. Remove the E, and you get SAT. Remove the A, and you get SET. Remove the T, and you get SEA. Although one letter is removed each time, the remaining letters still form meaningful words with purpose and value.
What a beautiful reminder of how God designed some people.
There are individuals who, even after losing money, a prestigious job, a respected title, or the support of influential friends, continue to shine. Their value is not defined by what they possess but by who they are in God. They remain a blessing wherever life places them because their identity is anchored in God’s purpose rather than earthly possessions.
On the other hand, some people resemble balloons. They appear impressive only while everything is going well. The moment life’s pressures arise, they lose hope, collapse emotionally, and expect everyone else to carry them. Their confidence was built on circumstances rather than character.
The lesson is simple: Never judge a person’s greatness by what they currently have. Judge it by what remains after life has taken something away.
Perhaps life has removed something precious from you. Maybe you have lost your job, your business, your home, your reputation, your finances, a relationship, or even someone you deeply loved. Do not conclude that your story is over.
Just as removing one letter from SEAT creates another useful word, God may be removing something from your life to create room for something greater. Sometimes what feels like a painful loss is actually divine preparation for a new beginning.

If something has been taken away from you, remember this truth: your value has not been removed. As long as God is with you, what remains is more than enough for Him to accomplish His purpose through your life.
The God who created you has not forgotten you. He is still writing your story, and your best chapter may still be ahead.
