t was a beautiful moment of faith, family and gratitude as Apostle Michael Asabere, popularly known as “The Only Living Saint,” visited Hoop Kirche Bremen together with his children, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie and Kwadwo Osei Afriyie.
The visit on Sunday was particularly meaningful as the family joined the congregation in an atmosphere of thanksgiving and worship. For Apostle Michael Asabere, it was an opportunity to pause and give glory to God for His protection, provision and faithfulness over the family.
A Special Blessing for the Children
One of the most memorable moments of the service came when Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie and Kwadwo Osei Afriyie went onto the stage and received blessings.
For a father, watching his children being prayed for and blessed is more than an ordinary church experience. It is a reminder that beyond education, material possessions and the ambitions parents have for their children, there is also a spiritual responsibility to commit the next generation into the hands of God.
The Bible reminds us:
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him.” — Psalm 127:3
The moment therefore represented something deeper: a father standing with gratitude as his children were surrounded by a community of faith and entrusted to God’s guidance.
Thanksgiving Should Never Be Forgotten
The visit also carried a strong message about thanksgiving.
Life moves so quickly that it is easy to concentrate on what we are still waiting for and forget what God has already done. We remember our unanswered prayers but sometimes forget the prayers that have already been answered.
Thanksgiving changes that perspective.
Scripture declares:
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” — Psalm 107:1
Thanksgiving does not mean that everything in life is perfect. Rather, it means recognizing that through our successes, disappointments, struggles and victories, we still have reasons to appreciate God.
Sometimes simply being alive, seeing our children growing, having family around us and being able to worship together are blessings greater than we realize.
Faith Must Be Passed to the Next Generation
There was also an important lesson in seeing children participate in the church service.
Christian faith should not end with one generation.
Parents may build houses, accumulate wealth and provide excellent education, but one of the greatest legacies they can leave their children is a foundation of good character, faith, discipline, humility and respect for God and humanity.
Children learn not only from what parents tell them but also from what they see their parents practise.
Taking children to church, praying with them and allowing them to experience a community of faith can plant seeds that may influence their lives long after they become adults.
A Moment to Treasure
For Apostle Michael Asabere and his children, the visit to Hoop Kirche Bremen became more than attending another Sunday service. It became a family memory — a moment of worship, thanksgiving and blessing.
As the children stood on stage receiving blessings, the occasion reflected a simple but powerful truth: there are moments in life when the greatest response is simply to say, “Thank You, Lord.”
May the blessings spoken over Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie and Kwadwo Osei Afriyie accompany them throughout their lives, and may they grow in wisdom, good character, favour and purpose.
And may families everywhere remember that while we work hard to give our children a better future, we should never forget to give them a strong spiritual and moral foundation.
